The BirchTree Orthodontics Chrome extension is a free tool that provides orthodontic care tips, appointment booking links, an emergency guide, and a treatment progress tracker for patients of BirchTree Orthodontics in Newark, Fremont, and Union City, CA.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. It does not use analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, or any form of remote data collection.

Local Storage

The extension uses Chrome’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to save treatment tracker data that you voluntarily enter, including your selected treatment type, start date, and estimated end date. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never sent to BirchTree Orthodontics, Anthropic, Google, or any third party.

Permissions

The extension requests only the “storage” permission, which allows it to save your treatment tracker settings locally on your device. The extension does not access your browsing history, read or modify web pages, or interact with any websites on your behalf.

Third Party Services

The extension contains links to external websites including birchtreeorthodontics.com, Google Maps, and Google Reviews. Clicking these links opens them in your browser and subjects your visit to the privacy policies of those respective services.

New Tab Page

The extension replaces your Chrome new tab page with a BirchTree Orthodontics dashboard. The search bar on this page directs searches to Google. No search queries are stored or intercepted by the extension.

Children’s Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users. No personal data entry is required to use any feature of the extension.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
