Invisalign Express 5
Express 5 is built for very minor tooth movement, typically post-orthodontic relapse where one or two teeth have drifted slightly out of alignment after a previous treatment. Up to five aligner stages are included. This is the briefest, most affordable Invisalign option, and not every patient is a candidate, the case has to be genuinely minor.
Invisalign Express Package
The Express Package extends the scope to seven aligner stages and is designed for minor relapse and what Align calls ‘anterior esthetic alignment’, cosmetic alignment of the front teeth only. One set of additional aligners is included for six months after the original treatment, which provides a safety net if the case needs minor refinement.
Invisalign Lite Package
Lite is the entry point for true orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, up to 14 aligner stages designed for mild Class I cases without extractions and without anterior-posterior bite correction. One set of additional aligners is included for one year. This package fits patients with mild crowding or spacing and a fundamentally healthy bite.
Invisalign Moderate Package
The Moderate Package is the most common package for adults, up to 20 stages, designed for Class I and mild Class II cases with mild to moderate crowding or spacing and mild bite discrepancies. One set of additional aligners is included for two years. This is the package Dr. Sharma prescribes most often for adult patients with the kind of orthodontic case that does not require extractions or major bite correction.
Invisalign Express Package
The Express Package extends the scope to seven aligner stages and is designed for minor relapse and what Align calls ‘anterior esthetic alignment’, cosmetic alignment of the front teeth only. One set of additional aligners is included for six months after the original treatment, which provides a safety net if the case needs minor refinement.
Invisalign Comprehensive Package
Invisalign First is the only Invisalign package designed for growing children with mixed dentition, the period when baby teeth and adult teeth are both present. The package supports predictable dental arch expansion, management of erupting teeth, and shorter clinical crowns. Unlimited aligners are included for 18 months. This is interceptive Phase 1 treatment, used to shape the developing dental arches before all the permanent teeth come in.
Invisalign First
The Comprehensive Package is unlimited stages, designed for the most complex cases including severe crowding or spacing, Class II and Class III bites, anterior-posterior and vertical discrepancies, and cases that require extractions. Unlimited additional aligners are included for five years. Compliance indicators, IPR (interproximal reduction), and mandibular advancement features are available in this package only.
How Dr. Sharma Decides Which Package Fits Your Case
The decision is clinical, not commercial. At your first visit, Dr. Sharma reviews the iTero 3D scan, the diagnostic photographs, and any necessary X-rays, then matches the case to a package using the same criteria Align uses to define each one, severity of malocclusion, presence of bite issues, whether extractions are needed, and patient age and dental development. The written quote names the package by name. There is no upselling to Comprehensive when Lite would do the job, and no underselling to Lite when the case actually needs Comprehensive.
What SmartTrack and SmartForce Actually Do
SmartTrack is the proprietary thermoplastic material that Align uses to manufacture every Invisalign aligner. According to Align’s published material, SmartTrack is engineered to apply gentler, more constant force than the off-the-shelf single-layer plastic used in some competing aligners. SmartForce attachments are the small composite bumps mentioned earlier, they extend the orthodontist’s ability to plan certain movements that would be difficult or impossible with the aligner alone.
Treatment Timeline, From Scan to Retainers

5 Facts About Invisalign Most Patients Get Wrong
- Invisalign is not faster than braces in every case. Treatment time depends on the difficulty of the movements, not the appliance.
